It’s a digital age my friends and even your wedding needs a website. When you thinking about building or designing a website, you might get a little overwhelmed. Chances are, you know very little about building a website. So, how do you do it and what should it include? Here’s everything you need to know about wedding websites.
#1 – You don’t have to know any code to build one. Building a website for your wedding couldn’t be easier. Whether you’re using the website template built into our web-based planning tools or going through a third party, all you’ll have to do is insert the relevant information into the template.
#2 – They’re free. Yes, there are paid options available but most options are free. Just find the one you like best and go for it!
#3 – Be sure to include all the important information. You’ll want to note your date, ceremony location and time, reception location, hotel accommodations, attire, travel details, and registry.
#4 – But not every detail. Certain information should be left off your wedding website. You won’t want to list any details about events that aren’t open to all guests like the rehearsal dinner, bachelor or bachelorette parties, wedding showers or any event of the such. Also, don’t list any personal contact information because after all, this is the internet.
#5 – Share your story. While you won’t include personal details like your address, phone number or private email, telling the story of how you met or introducing your guests to your wedding party is a nice touch.
#6 – Make it early. Start your wedding website before you send out save the dates so you can include a link. It doesn’t have to be complete but has what information you know filled out. This way, guests will know they have a resource to check throughout your engagement for updates.
What did you include on your wedding website that was most helpful to your guests?
